TAX FORECLOSURES
1) Can I lose my home if I do not pay my property taxes?

3) What happens after the property is forwarded from the local municipality in which the property owner lives to the county treasurer for collection?

First, have you been applying for and receiving State Homestead Property Tax Credits?  This credit can be claimed retroactively for up to the past 4-years.

Second, make sure you apply for the State Homestead Property Tax Credit when you complete this year’s State tax return.

Third, contact your local (city or township in which you pay property taxes) government about the possibility of avoiding a “delinquency.”
